I’m leaving for Australia this week, and after all of my travels, I’ve found that my favorite and most helpful things when it comes to the convenience of travel, are travel apps. They are so helpful and so nice to have!
First of all, my biggest tip of the century is to always check in online or on your airline’s app the day before you go. It makes EVERYTHING go by so much faster, and if you’re running late, you can skip the rush and the long lines and just buzz on by because you had already checked in.
My Top Fave Online/On Mobile Apps:
- CheckMyTrip– is an app you can download on your phone. From there, you can enter your trip info and it gives you a countdown to your trip, and also has all of your flight info and details. This is especially nice if you have connecting flights, or are flying multiple airlines. It’s all your trip information in one little app on your phone! I also think you can enter hotel reservation information on there, so you have literally ALL of your trip information in one place. It’s my favorite travel app of all time.
- I ALWAYS keep my Airline’s App on my phone. I fly different airlines all the time, so I definitely have pretty much every single airline app on my phone. I’ve had a few times where I get to the airport, and my terminal has been changed, and I get a push notification on my phone, so I know where to go. I also have had connecting flight terminals change, and all I have to do is look on the app. Plus, as I mentioned before, I always check in 24 hours before my flight. All you have to do is push one little button on the app and boom, you’re checked in. It’s that easy!
- I like to always have as much information about my trip as possible, and one really nifty little thing is the website SeatGuru.com. It’s also an app, I believe. But when you look at your flight details, it will usually tell you what kind of airplane you’ll be flying in. SeatGuru has information and layout details about seriously every airplane you could imagine, which is convenient if you know what your seat number is, or want to plan accordingly to what seat you’ll snatch up when you board the plane. It’s one of the neatest things about the internet. All this information at your fingertips!
That’s it. Just three super nifty, super convenient apps to make your trip a little bit more carefree and stressfree. If you have other apps that you like to use, I’d love to hear about them in the comments below! I’m always looking for new travel tips to try out!!
